"The Fritts Family of Rogersville, Tennessee, are obviously one of bluegrass music's better kept secrets . . ."
- Country Music News - January, 2002
"The evening's performance combined the best traditions of Tennessee family bands, like the Carters, with the Fritts Family's distinctive sound."
- Bluegrass Now - December,2002
Larry Fritts began playing music at the age of twelve. He would perform in many touring
groups including the legendary Jimmy Smith "The Old Ridge Runner" (a onetime Front man for the Carl Smith show) before forming the Fritts Family in 1987.
Sarah Fritts has been performing on stage since the age of three. Sarah would eventually go on to study the fiddle with the late Benny Sims (the original fiddle on "Pike County Breakdown" and vocalist on "Salty Dog Blues" with Lester Flatt and Earl Scruggs) and later study with several other instructors in the East Tennessee State University Bluegrass, Country, and Old-time Music program.
Jeremy Fritts's musical interests are quite diverse. His career has ranged from performance and composition to instruction. Having studied bluegrass, classical, and jazz music at the college level, Jeremy earned his Master's Degree in Guitar from Belmont University (Nashville, TN) in 2002. In addition to performing, Jeremy teaches guitar and banjo in the Bluegrass, Country, and Old-time Music program at East Tennessee State University and he has (previously) taught classical and jazz guitar at Milligan College. In addition to teaching and performing, Jeremy enjoys writing and arranging music. He has authored a series of instructional DVD's and books and his guitar arrangements have been featured in Flatpicking Guitar Magazine.
